Herping in the Texas Hill country?

I live near the hill country, and go there all the time. I'd love to see the natural reptiles of the hill country, and I've never spotted much. My first snake was actually a Texas threadsnake I caught, and I've also had house gecks from around town.
If anyone has any advice for finding reptiles out in the middle of nowhere texas (lol), let me know!

I just flip over old logs and boards and take a peek in burrows.

My best finds have been road cruising down in south Texas.
