Pileated Woodpecker hard at work
 

Saw this pileated woodpecker out back of the house working over a dead branch on the live oak tree out there. Looks like a young one to me.

Wonderful video! I love those birds! Sadly, I've only seen one here. Got a really crappy pic of it up in a pine in the front yard, but you can't really tell it's a pileated, lol
