Mealworm bedding
Any hints on what you all use for bedding your mealworms? I was using the mealworm bedding from cricketfood.com and am all out. Want to see if there is anything else to use that is better?
Thanks..... Lou |
I use oatmeal you can buy in a big can at the store. I also toss in some Special K and some Flukers high calcium cricket feed. Seems to work just fine for me.

Cody from progeckos.com makes gut load you might want to give it a try.
Pro Gutload |
I use oatmeal, calcium, leo gecko dust and Total cereal, I throw 2 cups of Total, 1 Cup of oatmeal, tablespoon of calcium and a tabelspoon of leo dust in a blender and mix it all up.

Could the same be used for super worms?

yes sir!!!
i use oatmeal from the grocery store do not get instant get the homestyle or long cooked kind. some call em original. i normallyuse the oats for the bedding and then use cody's gutload and for moisture give oranges, potatoes, carrots, squash (yellow or green) and some times kale or mustard or collard green (pretty much what ever is on sale |
Robin,
How do they do on kale for you? I have tried it, however they seem to just ignore it. |
my mealies will eat ANYTHING... supers dont eat it as much it seem... and the mealies usually do not eat the big stalk however at times they have been known to... if they dont like it in leaf form throw it in the blender or food processor... gaunteed they will eat it
