What kind of Rattlesnake?
Hello all,
One my friends and I were hiking in the Green Swamp yesterday and we came up on this beautiful little rattlesnake laying on the hiking path. I'm curious as to whether it is a pygmy rattler or some other kind of rattlesnake. Here is the link to the video. http://youtu.be/9M8FV1MSm0o |
It looks like a pygmy but I'm a CA dude and not 100% sure. Nice looking crote!

Looks kind of like a pygmy to me, how long was it?
|
It is a pygmy rattler. I am going to say Dusky.
|
I will say Pygmy as well, caught them in the Everglades 20 plus yrs ago. cute lil suckers that pack some serious venom!

He was about a foot long.

Wish we had more venomous to see up here in PA. Rattlesnakes are by far my favorite venomous snake but I dont have enough experience to own them or I would have twice as many of them as I do retics

Yes, thats a Dusky Pygmy. great looking animal, ours at the shop is one of the coolest animals on display IMO
