I was the Collections Curator at a Nature Center in NY in the 80s and 90s, and we had a Timber Rattlesnake that gave birth to healthy baby in 1990 after at least 8 years of living alone!!

Wow! Documented?

I am sad to say, that the newest update is not so awesome. The baby that had the eye issue, and that wouldnt ever eat, Finally passed away today. We worked hard to try to save it, but it just never got going well. Also the other one, has stopped eating again, and its back to assist feeding, so here goes this again. updates when they happen.

I'm sorry to hear that. We are still pulling for the other one. Odds are the sperm had degraded and they might have underlying issues, but perhaps she is just being finicky since she has eaten on her own before. Keep positive.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Eric!
I know how it is to put so much time and energy into a special needs animal, and to have it pass away. It takes a little piece of your soul with it. Don't ever give up or second guess yourself...you're an awesome herp parent, and you've made a great contribution by tracking these little wonders!! Sometimes, things are just way beyond our control or they simply aren't meant to be, no matter how much we want them to be. Keep up the great work with the other baby, and please let us know how it's doing!! Sending prayers for a quick turn around for the other one!! RIP, little one!!!! |
Thanks for the words guys...

I just found this thread and was about to recommend dr. booth. I was wondering if you ever got the sheds sent off?
|
I have one shed from the babies, currently waiting for a shed from the mother to send off, but it is def. the next thing to get done!

Sorry for the above comment! Different computer, and login was different! Lol Anyhow, same as above is meant to be said from the GHC page
|
Yes, that shows me not to check to see if someone has logged off the computer before posting. Anyhow, the mother hasnt shed in quite some time, she seems to be dulling out, so hopefully she will shed soon enough... We will see though, it will be nice to find out some answers to what happend in this situation.
