Little confused???
My Retic arrived today but was packed with no heat!!! He was really cold .. I put him in a heat tub immediately.. not sure why their wasn't any heat provided? This is a big name breeder as well....
Temps are in upper 40's Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |
I would start by documenting (emailing) this fact with the seller/sender... just in case.
Big name breeders can have small name employees packaging things for them. |

This time of year temperatures can vary pretty widely for a shipped critter depending on where it originates, the FedEx hub it passes through, and the destination. While too little heat can make the critter uncomfortable, too much can cause irreversible neurological damage or death.
Retics are normally pretty touch and can stand being cool for a few hours with no ill effects. Obviously your new arrival should be quarantined for at least 90 days, as you would do with any new reptile, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were ok. |
