Alabama Law regarding venomous reptiles:

Quote:

Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Regulation 220-2-.26 as revised August 13, 2012.

(5) It shall be unlawful for any person to possess, sell, offer for sale, import, or release any non-indigenous venomous reptile in or into the State of Alabama.

Regarding Box Turtles (part of 220-2-.92 Nongame Species Regulation):

Quote:

(2) It shall be unlawful to possess more than one box turtle or to offer for sale, sell, or trade for anything of value any box turtle (Terrapene spp.), box turtle part or reproductive product except by permit as outlined in paragraph (1).

Individual cities have more specific regulations as far as maximum length, no venomous, or even not allowing them at all.
