F2 50% Dwarf Brums

I have read that F2 Half(50%) Dwarf Burms tend to be smaller than the F1 Half Dwarfs. With the claimed average size of adult female F2 Half Dwarfs being about 2-2.2 meters(6.5-7.2 feet) or about the same as a large female pure Dwarf Burmese Python.

Is this true? I ask because it does not quite sound right - to me. Normally - I would think being a 50% Mainland Burms or about 9-10 feet.

Here is where I found this information.

I have gotten a female 50% dwarf Burm. She is presently about 28" long and 250 grams.

How are your 25% dwarf burm doing? How old is she etc?

She isn't a 25% dwarf. At least that is not what she was sold to me as.

I bought her 50%(half) dwarf het for albino. She actually has some albino litter mates. This would mean that she is an F2 (2nd generation half dwarf) at least. Most likely the mating of a F1 half dwarf(dwarf grandfather/albino mainland grandmother) het albino, with either another F1 half dwarf het albino or an F2 half dwarf albino.

So far she seems to be doing fine - eating F/T rat pups/weanlings. And she is taming down nicely. Still a bit cage aggressive. But once outside the cage she is does find with handling.

I was told that she was only about 2-3 months old at the time I bought her. But I do wonder if she isn't a bit(maybe a month) older.

Sorry. I meant 50%. Was one of the parents an albino? If not then your burm would be 66% het albino. I got a male 100% dwarf. He is about 42" now. And just over a year. Still thinner than my balls of about the same age

Errol is correct. If both parents were hets, she'd be a 66% possible het. She can only be a 100% het if one of the parents was a visual albino.

Well - she was listed as being 100 % het for albino. So it would suggest that one parent was an Albino half dwarf(F2), and the other was a half dwarf het for albino(F1 or F2). So she could be either an F2 or F3.

He should be much slimmer than a similar length Ball Python. I also have a similar sized(28-30") male Ball python to compare my female 50% dwarf to. I can tell his girth is quite a bit larger than her girth is. My pinstripe male Ball is eating small/medium rats(75-150 g).

Pure Progschai Burms are quite slim - when compared with similar sized mainland Burms or Ball pythons. Basically similar to the way that Dwarf and Super Dwarf slimmer than mainland retics.

I am actually very surprised that he(42") is that long at that age. Most pure Dwarf males aren't over 36-40" at the 18 month mark. Keep in mind a pure Dwarf male usually become sexually mature at about 50-54" range and about 3-4 years old. And they seem to max out about 6 feet(11+ years old).

This is a comparison pic. The ball is a 2017. The ball is about an inch or two smaller
