Rainy night road cruise

Heavy rains brought the amphibians out in droves. I encountered 16 different species, but only took photos of the ones that needed better photo documentation in my portfolio.

Thanks, Jackie. Great shots!

I live in a heavily wooded burb with a lake and creeks very close to my house. I love, love, love the "rainy season" when the chorus frogs, tree frogs, bull frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, etc come out to sing and play at night.

Add that to the crickets and owls horrendous screeches, it's all good :)

Music to sleep by.

The best animal acts come out at night :)

Laura,
Same here! We have a small pond down in the pasture and when it rains heavily during the Spring it is like a natural orchestra. Like yourself, I open the bedroom window and drift off to some of the sweetest sounds that nature has to offer.
