Leachie laid 3 eggs
Our leachie girl has a clutch each year, last two years she laid 2 infertile eggs (we don't have a male), however this year she had 3! Has anyone seen this before?
I found an article online about a crested that had 3 eggs once (http://www.bcssecretreptiles.com/cre...crested-gecko/) but that is all I have found. Thought this was really interesting! I wonder if she will ever do it again. |
Do you still incubate in case of possible parthenogenesis?
I never had this species, but I have had some gecko species in the past that were layers of two-egg clutches that ever so rarely would lay one or three instead. Three being much less common than one for them. |
no, they are not fertile (they candle solid yellow), we incubated the first batch just in case but nothing. :)

This year.. she laid a single egg. So weird!
|
I think she's just an incurable optimist...

Hope springs eternal.
Incubate this one, too. Just in case. |
We moved from CA to UT and overnight in her transport tub, this little stinker laid 2 more eggs.
*sigh* |
She is telling you she wants a boyfriend. She is already spending the resources on the dud eggs.
|
yeah, too bad they are so expensive plus you have to hope the pair bonds. Maybe someday.

My gargoyle once laid three eggs, all of which hatched. Two of the babies were smaller than is normal, but they survived, and had evened out in size by six months.
