Leopard gecko too fat?
How can you tell if your leo is too fat? My male is a little over a year, bred and hatched by yours truly. As a baby he was a real difficult starter and a very picky eater. Even at 9 months old he was still very small and still had all of his baby characteristics. Then over the summer he had a HUGE growth spurt, and now eats like a champ. Tonight thought, I noticed he seemed a little on the pudgy side. What should I look for to tell if his weight is healthy, or on the overweight side? I don't have a scale here at school to weight him, unfortunately. I will try to upload pictures soon.

He looks fine. The only time I worry is when the tail becomes skinny and he won't eat. The males tend to grow quickly so they mature faster and ready to breed.

Trust me, there is no doubting when you have an obese leopard gecko. If it looks like a whale with almost nonfunctional limbs, its too fat.
