How to time when an egg is about to hatch....

I am just curious as to how all of you time your eggs so you know when they are about to hatch. Like, do you write the date it was laid on the egg, or do you write a # on the egg that you reference on a piece of paper with the date on it, or how do you go about doing this?

Thanks for your input!

I use the small deli cups, and write the parents and date of laying right on the cover. A paper backup may not be a bad idea either though.

eggs hatching

I incubate my males at 88-89 degrees, and they hatch in about 38-39 days, and my females hatch in about 58-60 days at 82 degrees. This rule rarely varies, and many times the eggs hatch on the exact due date. I put a piece of tape on the deli cup with the date the eggs were laid, and the date they are due to hatch.... and keep an eye on them starting a few days before their hatch date.
