Different looking Box Turtle. High Yellow!
 

A friend of mine found a really neat little box turtle today, what do you guys think?

How neat! That is a gorgeous box

Where was that animal collected? I wonder if it was on the border between the range of the eastern and the three-toe. I say this because I've seen animals believed to be intergrades in far western IL, and they look like that. I also had a friend with a colony of boxies that included eastern, three-toe, and ornate individuals. His three-toes were all female, and produced mixed-blood offspring that were mostly light brown in color, usually with four-toes.

He was just west of Asheville, NC, so I doubt it was a hybrid.
