City question
Does anyone know if existing laws against reptiles can be repealed? Has anyone tried this or have experience or more knowledge relating to this?

there are a few states, mostly those who had a strong "progressive" political party @ the turn of the century that have what's known as referendum where basically you collect X amount of signatures to put a particular law up to vote, or repeal it dopending on the state. I know for sure that texas has a referedum law, but I'm not sure what city or state you're talking about, so you'd have to look it up. Best of luck, Whit

the only way to go about "changeing" a city ordinance against reptiles (usually venomous) is to attend a city councel meeting, be prepared, and speak your part. if your a tax payer in your city, you have the right to speak at a city meeting. if the city council decided that you can own what ever it is your trying to own, they will either, change the ordinance, or give you a written permit from them and your city manager decribing what you are keeping and that is has been apprived. best of luck but remember that if you do voice your opinion at a meeting, you may burn your bridges if they decide against the matter and your already keeping the stuff. they'll for sure know you have it then. i hope this can help you out. rowdy kent. atheris2004@yahoo.com
