RodentPro

RodentPro is a great place to get your frozen feeders. I personally will continue to purchase from them.

The expected sizes of rat in each bag may vary quite a lot from order to order. They are often frozen in odd shapes and smell highly of urine. However, if you wash your rats before each feeding and don't mind "reshaping" them when they're thawed -- you have nothing to worry about.

Where RodentPro makes it all up is in their customer service. Their customer service is in the top 10 of all businesses I have ever dealt with.

seconded on the customer service

I've been using rodentpro for years and had been happy with their methods and product, though I agree other places may have tidier packaging methods. I thaw my prey in warm water though, effectively "washing" them so that's never really mattered to me.

Their customer service really is fantastic though. Sometimes on the BOI folks say "it's how problems are handled that we can really see the good guys" and recently, I did have a package disappear in a way that some sellers would probably have told me SOL. Rodentpro however replaced my order and even let me change my order a bit as I noticed other things I was interested in and applied new coupons to that.

Very happy with them, buy with confidence!

I have used Rodent Pro since 2008 I think, I would only go somewhere else if they went out of business. I've never had any problems ordering or receiving a order, one time some of the pinky mice were broken in half so they gave me credit for 100 ones on my next order. Good guys for sure.

I just received my first order from RodentPro and I will definitely be buying from them now on! Can't beat those prices! Plus it was well packaged and the insulation kept everything frozen solid even after a few days in transit. Perfect products, mine at least were all clean and none of the feeders were "blocked" together.

I too was very pleased with their customer service! :D I didn't make it as easy as it could have been for them either - My order didn't go through the first time because I had forgotten to finish all the paperwork on my new card. RodentPro took the initiative to call me up and let me know, they were very polite and understanding about the whole thing and reordered it all for me.
Also I had requested smaller guinea pigs before that in the 'customer comments' section when I placed my order. They had them listed as 85-174 grams and I asked if they could please have them be closer to the lower end of the scale. Once again they went out of their way to contact me the day they were to be shipped, letting me know the average weight and asking if that was okay. It was and I ended up getting just what I needed!

Couldn't have been happier with it all~

You can't beat RP. I even have a local breeder whom I really like and use from time to time and he can't touch their prices and I buy over $1K at a time. Their website shipping cost calculator is awesome. Even in the middle of a FL summer, the packs arrive frozen solid and usually sit outside a while until I get home from work. I just ordered $1300 worth from them for when the gilas and beadeds warm up on 3/1.

TattooLost 02-18-2012 09:28 PM

Excellent product, excellent customer service. I usually price shop every order, and the majority of the time RP comes out on top and gets my order.

I like their customer service. I had a problem recently where the sent the wrong color, and didn't get one size I had ordered. No prob though. They still gave me the sale price, and are sending the mice that they forgot to put in my package. Very happy with the mice and rats too.

snakelover1995 02-19-2012 09:19 PM

Their customer service and selection is OUTSTANDING. I ordered guinea pigs and quail from them a bit ago and when I accidentally ordered the wrong size... they went and corrected my order for me when I called. They were very understanding and not attitudinal at all. I will continue to do business with them now and in the future (when I need more frozen feeders... for now I have to move some of my reptile's food to get to my own :D)

I too have had great experiences with RodentPro. Although the sizes do vary, all of the rats in a single bag are about the same size, which makes feeding multiple snakes easier. The only problem I have ever had with RodentPro was when they discontinued Greyhound shipping and made no mention of it on the website. When I called RodentPro, Casey (who has been very helpful every time I have called) said that they had indeed stopped shipping with Greyhound, but were using the same size double box with FedEx. He said that this would be at most a few dollars more expensive per box. When I checked using their shipping calculator I found that it would be $14 more per box. This means that for my standard order I would be spending $126 more (Although I wouldn't have to go to the Greyhound Station). Even with this increase in shipping price they are still the cheapest around, but I was not entirely impressed with them through the process. I am still a loyal RodentPro customer, and will continue to order about $5,000 worth of rodents from them per year.

Snake-Queen 02-20-2012 01:27 AM

I have always ordered from RP. I have never had any issues.
I have price shopped around and including shipping costs they still beat out the competition with lower prices.

I attend several shows a year, and you would think picking them up at a show would be cheaper... not so. I always factor in the price of the "food" & the shipping to get an average cost per "dinner", still cheaper to have them shipped to me. :)

Ingenious Incarnations 02-20-2012 08:45 AM

I recently picked up an order from RP that was excellent in every way. For the number and size if animals I bought, I would have paid double at my local corporate pet store for frozen food. These guys will continue to get my business, until they go out of business, or I stop keeping reptiles.

iKandyXotics 02-20-2012 01:16 PM

I just currently ordered from RodentPro and, they do indeed have some fantastic prices. The only problem I have so far is ,that I orderd almost two weeks ago and they are just now being shipped (should arrive any time this week). Although it's not a big problem , I have some ravenous mouths to feedlol.

Skinker 02-20-2012 03:41 PM

I've been buying from them since 2008 and haven't had a single issue. With their "hot deals" I start looking to re-up when my supply is down to 1/4 or so and usually get a smoking deal without having to just take what's available because I'm desperate for feeders. Rodents arrive frozen solid even in the middle of summer and always on time as per their shipping terms.

I love Rodent Pro! I've made two orders with them so far and I haven't been disappointed. They pack the frozen rodents extremely well, and the rodents are the exact size I wanted. A++ company.

A lot of people had some major issues with Rodent Pro last year.

They used to be a long time advertiser here, and I used to buy rodents from them as well, but apparently they got pissed about that issue being aired here as they dropped their advertising on this site at that time. :shrug01:

tsthompson 02-15-2013 06:19 PM

I doubt we will ever see the old pricing again!

Lucille 02-15-2013 07:23 PM

I'm sorry that the site lost advertising, and I'm disappointed too that it apparently happened because of a discussion here. I hope Rodent Pro did not think that because there was some revenue involved that the site would somehow put the hush on the free exchange of ideas on the BOI.

TattooLost 02-15-2013 08:47 PM

Looking at the prices lately it seems RP and MD need money bad. Sadly they both lost my business with the jacked up prices.

MikeCurtin 02-16-2013 12:54 AM

I used to buy from them, and was satisfied. However, their less than honest and open approach to last year's illness left me concerned about dealing with them in the future. I have to say that since I have switched, I do not miss the size inconsistencies or the urine scented rodents....nor do I miss the $50 box charge regardless of order size.

I now buy surplus from a fellow vendor at the northeast shows, and I have switched to Loxahatchee when online ordering is required. Comparable rates, better shipping costs, peace of mind.

Stephen917 02-19-2013 10:50 PM

Number 1, hands down best place!

Best place to get frozen rodents, no regrets!!!

Snakepliscan 02-20-2013 12:06 AM

No Thanks!

Has anyone checked out their prices lately since the disease outbreak? Their price on mice alone have more than doubled! No Thanks! Check out American Rodent Supply. Much better prices and cleaner rodents!

Metachrosis 03-25-2013 08:03 PM

Buying Lab surplus from ARS or RP, which is better ? . . . . . . how?
Ill feed wild caught before darkening either of their doors

I do not eat "Great Value" products nor do my animals

TriangleReptiles 06-20-2013 02:44 PM

I have been and still am a RodentPro customer. Their prices are back down to where they were before their problems of last year, their mice are clean and properly sized and inventory and selection is great. I have received 2 orders from them this spring, and will continue doing business with them.

mcrosson3 06-20-2013 05:03 PM

Rodent pro has great customer care along with great products...I will continue to use them for years to come. Been using them for two years with no issues

Just wanted to share my recent positive experience with rodentpro. I had some feeders shipped to me a couple of weeks ago, and they had arrived partly thawed. I called rodentpro and I was very impressed with their great customer service. My call was returned in a prompt manner and I also received a couple of emails. After I explained what happened- I had taken photos of the first shipment but they told me it was not necessary to send them- RodentPro shipped me a replacement box at no cost to me and it arrived today, and this time all the mice were perfectly frozen with extra insulation to ensure it would not happen again. Thanks rodentpro!
