LOL If they really cared about our native wildlife, they should be doing something about the thousands of feral dogs and cats in this country.

I was thinking along the same lines. One could change this to : Supporters of the ban said the interests of the pet industry and the desires of people keeping house cats should not carry more weight than the need to protect native birds, mammals and other wildlife.
