Another question about head size and gender
Heya,
Do male corucia have overall squarer heads (as in deeper, as well as wider) than females? I have noticed that the larger of my skinks has almost a cube-shaped head, whereas the other has a relatively flat but broad head. |
Yes, males generally do have square, blocky heads. Also males generally have enlarged jaw muscles and a more slender body. Females on the other hand, generally have more slender, elongated heads, and heavier, stockier bodies. The point I am trying to get across is that these are generalizations, and you can't rely only on head shape for sexing. josh

Thanks, I appreciate that, but added to several things to consider it may be a key step in trying to determine gender. I have seen many people talk generally about larger heads, but I wasnt sure if this just applied to width or depth also.

Take a look at the thread on sexing PTS...
