Is this a mite? I found it in my Dumerils water dish this morning 😖

Hard to tell. Typically you wouldn't find just one though.

Try wiping your snake down with a damp white paper towel and see if you find any black specks moving on it afterward.

How large was this? Mites are tiny so unless you magnified this I doubt that is a mite.

that is a beetle not a mite.

Looks like a varied carpet beetle (Anthrenus verbasci). They can be a pest species that damage clothing, upholstery, and carpet. I would look around and see if you can find more. If one found it's way into your snake cage there might be enough in your house to be a legitimate problem. If you find more, call an exterminator.
