I dropped him! [emoji27]

So I took my Kenyan sand boa out to check him over for any stuck shed, looked away for a brief second and he plopped right out of my hand and onto the carpet! I’ve never dropped a snake like that before! I feel terrible! I looked him over, he looks fine. Just was curious if anyone else has experienced this and if maybe there are extra precautions I should take. Thank you community!

People drop (or have jump) reptiles and amphibians quite commonly. Sometimes the animals are injured, but usually not. Observe the snake for signs of injury or unusual behavior, and seek veterinary assistance if needed.
As far as precautions, just be careful and hold them a bit more tightly. Handling the animal directly over its enclosure, or a table, is a good idea, especially with flighty specimens.

Sand boas are much more likely to fall out of your hands than other snakes, because they don't hold on to you. Many people who are experienced in handling other snakes drop them because of this. Just remember in the future that they will just fall out of your hands if you don't hold on to them.

And as Greg says, just observe the snake for any change in movement or body integrity.
