Hello

Hello,

Yes, that is quite normal. They do grow very fast at that age. On average, they will grow 1/2 inch, sometimes more, per week.
I would guess that he is probably roughly 6 months old, at 12 inches. Give or take 1 month either way. It is difficult to tell when you get them from a petstore, as they don't always know the true age, either.
Maybe you could post a pic so we could have a look at him. :D

Okey that good enough for me (6months) also i didn't get him from a pet shop i went with a great breeder, last dragon i got from a petshope died not gunna do that again.
My beardeds a ogg (Orange German giant ) what size should my tank or cage be width wise for when he gets bigger, right know he is in a 60 gallon Oscars race tank it's hight is more then it's width and i know it need to be large width wise in the future petco has what they call a breeder tank,, but wow it's short (hight). pitures yeah im still working on that..

Hello

Hello,

Well, for a german giant, I would definitely go with a minimum of a 90 gallon tank. Really, preferably a 120 gallon or larger.
A good rule is they need at least 1 1/2 times their length at least, in the width so they can turn around easily without stressing their spines. They need at least 2-3 times their length for the length of their tank. A common size is a 4x2x2 or a 5x2x2 is a good size.
Yes, you are right, they need length more than they need height. A breeder tank is better than the conventional tank.
