Herping in DFW?

Anybody know of a good place to go herping around DFW? I would prefer to stay closer to the Tarrant County area. I would love to observe some of the reptiles around here.

Thanks,

I would suggest joining the DFW Herpetological Soceity.

They have some good herpers in that group.

I used to live around DFW, in Collyville near Dallas and Keller. If you're looking for herps, Anole lizards (Green Anole, Anolis Carolinensis) tend to congregate around houses and other buildings where they have walls facing the sun to bask. They're quick, and can be pretty bitey if caught, but they are really cool. Also, a few species of larger nocturnal amphibians (mostly frogs and the odd large toad) can be found at night around standing water or when it rains as well. Not sure about other herps like snakes or horned toads though.
