My African House Snakes
I don't browse here often, nor do I get the pleasure of updating the pictures of my collection, so I decided I'd go for both in one night...
A young female dark-phase spotted house snake, 'Cinder.' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../Dags/SS13.jpg A red phase spotted male, 'Rurik.' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../Dags/SS12.jpg My dark phase striped house snake, 'Mocha,' followed by 'Latte,' who I believe to be a form of hypo? I have yet to see another striped house snake like her. I'll be breeding her this year. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../Dags/SS10.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/Dags/SS9.jpg A lace-patterned spotted, who is more pink than red most of the time. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/Dags/SS5.jpg My albino cape male, 'October.' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/Dags/SS6.jpg A very fierce red cape female... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/Dags/SS3.jpg My awesome little bug-eyed house snake, 'Juno.' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/Dags/SS2.jpg |
Nice. I like Latte, October, the Namibian .. Oh heck, I like them all.
|
Thanks Dennis! I've been looking for a little male Namibian to go with that girl.
|
Nice collection! And kudos to not referring to them as 'fuliginosus' or brown house snakes like everyone else does!
|
They are all, without a shadow of a doubt, gorgeous! I can't pick a favourite although the first lineatus, Mocha might just clinch it for me.
|
Both Mocha and Latte are hooking up with this little beauty, who I call 'Cedar.'

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/Dags/SS9.jpg Hmm sorry for grave diggin but.... That's Marduk: http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/...k/P1000901.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/...k/P1000912.jpg I Wondering is Just Locality or Hypo Like You said... most of Lineatus are dark chocolate color.. and have White Striping... Those two are milk chocolate with yellowish fainted Stripes... I'm getting Female soon so we see what will pop up from Breeding... And One more time great collection... |
Aes, great looking Lineatus!
Yes, I suspect there is some kind of locality/hypo thing going on here. I have 3 male hatchlings I am raising up to breed with this female, too. Like you, I noticed most other Lineatus are typically dark brown or red with white/cream striping. And yet, these yellow-striped guys are more common than I expected, too. |
