wanted- bearded dragon enclosure
My beardie is almost full grown, and I have read that he needs to be in a bigger vivarium than I have him in.
He is currently in a 3' long x 12" wide x 12" deep vivarium. I do have an old aquarium that is 5' long x 18" wide x 26" deep that I was thinking about using for him. It's so deep that it will be difficult to reach in for cleaning, etc. once it's on a stand. This was used for fish, so it doesn't have front opening. I could possibly try to sale the aquarium and buy an enclosure, but I'm having a difficult time finding anything that's big enough for a full grown beardie that can be delivered to me (or not a real long drive to pick up) for less than 600.00 that is 5' long. My questions: a.) is it necessary for him to be in something 5' x 2' x 2' ? b.) does anyone have any links they can send to some decent priced vivariums that are big enough? I see them 4' long everywhere online, but I keep reading that he needs around 5' long. thank you |
To answer your questions:
a.) It is not necessary for him to be in a 5x2x2 b.) I don't have any links, but you could visit the websites of the people advertising on here and compare prices. I bought my cages off of Craigslist. I have 3 beardies and the smallest cage for an adult is a 40 gallon breeder which is 36"x18"x17". My 2 females are in 3'x2'x18" and my male is in a 4x2x2. |
