Advice with Breeding Females in Bioactive

Hello All:

I'm looking at upgrading all of my adult crested geckos to bioactive vivariums to make my life a little easier and hopefully improve theirs. Plus, plants are fun :)

My only concern at the moment is dealing with my breeding females and their egg laying. Any tips for how to try and discourage them from laying in their substrate and to get them to go for the lay boxes instead?

My female crested geckos do lay in the substrate. The substrate acts as the incubation medium. If your soil mix is right and you have a proper drainage layer the eggs will be just fine. Just keep the soil from getting too wet. I bought my bioactive supplies from Josh at "thebiodude.com. There are other places to buy it too or you can make your own. The springtails and isopods will also tend to the eggs. I just collect the babies in the morning when they hatch out. They usually climb to the top corners of the tank or hide in the plants.
