Armed Patrols on US City Streets

garweft 07-04-2012 01:25 PM

Where did you see armed patrols?

The entire area has lost power and is experiencing record high temps. Going around to make sure people are ok seems like the right response. :shrug01:

Guns make everyone feel safe.

Wait, so you're angry that the National Guard is responding to a fully announced and acknowledged State of Emergency, which is what the National Guard is specifically around to do? That's like getting mad at the Coast Guard for checking the status of vessels in bad weather!

And armed patrols? It wasn't mentioned anywhere in the article that they were carrying arms. And even if they did, what's the big deal? It's the NATIONAL GUARD, not some militia group doing house visits to win over the public so they can take over the government. Local law enforcement is armed at all times, so why can't the National Guard be armed while doing the same exact thing?

Can we stop being silly now? Please?

Being Silly?
Does FEMA arm it's ranks?
Does the Red Cross also arm it's humanitarian
ranks?
Folks fail to see the bigger picture, and stagger blindly
as the strings are pulled.

I'm armed. Several members of my family have concealed carry permits. Does that make us conspiracy theorists? No. Does that make us dangerous to society? No.

The Red Cross doesn't need to arm itself because it is almost always partnered with a military organization or, guess what, the National Guard. FEMA and the National Guard work together all the time.

You certainly picked the weakest topic ever to post a conspiracy theory about. Sheesh. What's next? Zombie sheep in New Zealand? Oh wait, that's been done...

Perfect

I don't count on the Red Cross to stop the violence and looting that almost always accompanies a disaster. That's the National Guard's job. It's like if you call 911, the paramedics and firemen who show up won't be armed, but the police will. How is this different?

Someone needs to lay off the brass cleaner.

I'm going on 52 yrs old and as far as I can remember the NG has shown up in all catastrophes with weapons. Mostly to aid but to secure areas from vandalism and to protect innocent law abiding citizens.
