Climacophora

I found this girl on Craigslist about 6 months ago while looking for something else. I would never think to look for animals on Craigslist and was kind of surprised to see a climacophora because usually it's all ball pythons. When I went to go see her the owner told me that they were selling her cheap because she was so aggressive they were afraid to take her out of the cage. Six months later, this snake has never tried to bite and is one of the most docile snakes I own. She has an EXTREMELY strong feeding response so maybe that's what freaked the previous owner out. She continues to get prettier with each shed.

Gorgeous!
I also normally avoid CL but every once in a while there's a gem on there. Great find! |
That shimmering green colour is amazing!

Thanks! Japanese ratsnakes make great semi-arboreal display snakes. The Kunasir Island specimens can be unreal looking and the albino population from Iwakuni, Japan are actually considered a natural monument by the Japanese government.
This photo of one of my juveniles shows what they look like before their color change. |
Never seen them before, but I'm very impressed.
