Western diamondbacks?
Wondering how to tell if it’s a western diamondback or something else. Let me know what you think

Looks like Crotalus oreganus oreganus, the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake, to me.

In further answer to you question on how to ID a C.atrox, atrox are known to have a black and white stripe pattern on the tail. They have a facial eye strip like what you see with the Northern Pacific, but they also have a more speckled appearance around the stripe as opposed to the crisp, distinct pattern visible on this animal.
Still, that is a very nice looking crotalid. |
I have a Northern pacific I will post a pic, so positive they are not western diamondbacks??

I'm quite certain. The tail markings are a very crisp and distinct black and white strip pattern, which isn't present with the photos you gave.

Thank you very much

No problem, it is a gorgeous snake no matter what it is.
