Talk to me about Caiman latirostris
 

For absolutely no actual good reason, I've been very interested in this species for a very long time.

Given that the holy grail of pet crocodilians, the Chinese alligator, is basically unattainable, I've been trying to figure good 2nd place alternatives.

Based on my not-very intensive research, this is the basic gist of what I'm getting:

1. Dwarf caimans; afflicted with severe Napoleonic complex; more difficult to work with than their size would imply.

2. West African dwarf crocodile; similar to the above. Either very feisty or very shy.

3. Female Yacare caiman; good size, reportedly decent temperament [better than spectacled caiman anyway].

4. Female broad-snouted caiman; Reaches appropriate size of 4-6 ft, but otherwise currently no information available.

Is there any documentation or personal experiences anybody has had working with this species? I've never seen them available, but they're not hyper restricted like A. sinensis is.
