Quick substrate question

My old beardie passed on and I’m revamping my tank for a baby beardie. What’s the best substrate for the lil ones?

Over the years, I've found newspaper, slate and unglazed ceramic tile and paper towels are the best, both for the health of the dragon and for easy cleanup.

Definitely avoid any kind of sand for babies ... or adults for that matter, IMO.

Sorry to hear about your old beardie. How old was s/he?

I find paper towels work great for babies, but I switch them to newspaper when they grow because larger animals tend to tear up the paper towels with their claws.

That's why unglazed tile is good ... keeps their nails trimmed :)

He was 8 and had yellow fungal infections a few years ago.
