Potter County, PA
Just some random herps I found in Potter County last year.
Longtail Salamander: http://i.imgur.com/Ge3p1h.jpg Unsure what kinda frog this is... Pickerel was the closest looking frog I could find online, but he didn't quite have the same markings. http://i.imgur.com/6Ne7ih.jpg Unsure.... http://i.imgur.com/enUpxh.jpg Spring peeper http://i.imgur.com/TATDgh.jpg And my favorite, which I actually found in Indiana County, PA. I'm thinking that it is a spotted salamander. http://i.imgur.com/42hEVh.jpg Feel free to chime in with the names of the ones I wasn't sure on. |
It's amazing how they survive the long cold winters there.
I have spent time in Potter and McKean county in the dead of winter the snow and cold is extreme.:) |
The one you are unsure about looks like a Slimy Salamander.

Very cool! We live in Bedford County and have found similar reptiles here. The salamander in the last pic is very cool!
