So Nice !!!
One of my favorite snakes that we can't have in our state ! :(

Great looking snake! Porphs are a real challenge to photograph. I usually put a bowl or a hide box over them and lift it off really quickly when I'm ready. They usually freeze and it takes them about 10 seconds to realize they can take off again.

Yeah, that often works for me too but not so far with this guy. Most of these pictures are from when he arrived and he is actually in shed in them, he attempted to shed while being shipped, I think, but got none of it off at all, which I didn't realize for a few days. Then I got to mess around for him for several days, trying to help him get it off. Finally we found the right combination of humidity and something he could use to rub against enough to get it started and shed in almost one piece. The last two pics are freshly shed.

I was just so happy that this guy arrived alive! The first one I was sent arrived DOA, the first time that's ever happened to me, was quite devastated. Was a heat pack fatality, I think. But the seller straight up replaced him, so I'm for the most part satisfied with how that turned out.

That's too bad about the DOA. I've never had a problem with that seller. I'm glad he took care of you and sent a replacement.

He is so hard to get good pictures of! Realized only after I'd taken these that the other lens had been on the camera and the settings were still for that one, not the one I took them with. Oh, well, kind of shows how much he's changing, anyway. Taken 3/24/15 indoors with flash.

Beautiful! Those bands have definitely lightened.
Mine have been locking up like crazy and my female looks like she is definitely gravid. (She faked me out last year though). I cooled them this year and I'm hopeful that she'll give me something to incubate.

Charis 03-24-2015 09:08 PM

Fingers crossed! If she does give you some nice eggs, we'd definitely be interested in getting a female from you!

gila7150 03-24-2015 10:05 PM

I'll definitely let you know. I'm cautiously optimistic.
