I've posted this in two other forums and though lots of people have viewed no one has bothered to say "yea" or "nea". But I figured I might as well try here. I'm very very curious and hope I can get an answer.
I have red spotted newts (aka eastern newts) in my pond. I am very familiar with how they look. However a couple of days ago I found a female that didn't look anything like any of the others I've seen in my pond. I'm curious of if she is a weirdo or if this is common and I just haven't come across one like her before.

Strange Red Spotted Newt:
That wild pattern and so much of it is what threw me off. If it weren't for the "red spots" I wouldn't have known she was a red spotted newt at all.
Hopefully someone can give me some insight.
Thanks in advance!
