Living Gems Reptiles is making a few select cuts to its breeder lineup, as we continue to prune our collection to focus on only the best of the best. This is getting to be an increasingly difficult process, as each cut leaves us with a better overall pool and therefore tougher choices.
This year’s first cut is “Hades,” a mature adult male. Born on September 27, 2009, Hades comes from a well-known high red bloodline. While his color has faded with age, he is still a good-looking animal, with a bright orange head and thin gleaming orange-white crescents along his sides. He is extremely handleable, and curious to boot – just this morning he stuck his face right in mine to say “hi” while I was cleaning his drawer. A ready eater currently on frozen/thawed medium rats, he weighs a healthy 1961 grams.
