Komodo dragon is centerpiece of new show at Shedd Aquarium

CHICAGO A big beast with the ominous name of "Faust" is likely to be the star at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium for most of the next year.

"Faust" is about eight feet long and weighs 130 pounds. He can be bad-tempered, and his mouth is so full of germs that anyone he bites with his razor-sharp teeth will probably develop a life-threatening infection.

The delightful "Faust" is a Komodo dragon, the world's largest species of lizard, and he's the centerpiece of the Shedd's new exhibition, "Lizards and The Komodo King." The show opens Saturday and runs through next February 28th.

The exhibition also features some 60 other lizards from about 30 different species. There are lizards that change color according to their moods, lizards that use their tails as weapons, a lizard without legs, and another one that appears to walk on water.
