I don't really have anything else to add other than, I think it is time he sent the snake back to you and you guys never talk to each other again. He has had the snake for 2 seasons and in his own words, the snake he sent you was payment for renting him for a second season. Whether the snake produces or not, had nothing to do with it. So I really do not see any way that he can justify keeping the snake.
