Feeding a white throat baby- w/ no luck

We bought a baby white throat - shipment arrived on Tuesday. We had his tank set up - we put mulch down as the substrate. He is active, drinking water, and looks good. He is about 5 inches from head to base of tail. He has crickets in the tank & we've offered him 2 different sized mealworms...& ground turkey. He won't eat yet and there is no waste from him in the tank. Any helpful suggestions - appreciated. He's in a 40 g breeder w/ a 250 wt. lamp & lots of hiding places - he acts interested in food when you introduce it - but won't eat it.
