This is an older post, but oh well.
I try to get out when I can, althoght I guess it won't be until next spring now. You can also check fieldherpforum.com. That site is dedicated entirely to field herping.
Sometimes it can be tough to find people to go out in the field. I used to drag out friends who didn't even like reptiles.
