I had the same problem my big male, back at my old house, would push our wooden fence open and get out all the time. I've always found him, also in our neighbor hood. Look at houses around the area with a lot of grass or a big garden. Also look for places where he might be resting, a good spot with some shelter. Also look for spots where he can get a drink from a yard with some water build up or an area of street with water in the gutter. I've also found him once at a local park (1-2 blocks) away that has a huge grass areas with a lot of trees. They can go kinda far. Best way to find a lost animal is on bike, remember that.
