It's Kelly's first show and she is probably sitting on the edge of her bed every night counting all the things she has to make sure of when she gets up in the morning. She's excited and wants things to go well so that this can be a reliable, regular show with a satisfied vendor/customer base.
She took someone at their word and upheld her part of the agreement above and beyond the call IMO. If David no longer felt sponsorship was a viable idea, for whatever reason, then all he had to do was type one or two sentences into his blackberry stating that fact and we wouldn't be reading this.
Most folks are okay with someone saying "Hey, I'd like to do that, but upon further consideration I fell I no longer can".
It would have been just that simple.
It still can be.
