The situation in Africa has been clouded by the tabloid media.
The allegedly new species was in fact that known as Suchus, described a long time ago and ignored.
It has been resurrected.
In terms of one of the dwarf kinds, it is now recognized as 3-4 species and there is also talk of divinding up the Nile ones along known subspecies lines.
In PNG, I split Nth vs South, something known for a long time.
I shall post the new Aussie one below.
Note that it is more gracile and longer snout than the normal NT form.
