Baby Nile Monitor Chunk Missing From Tail

So I recently picked up a baby Niloticus. THOUGHT we looked him over pretty good but now I've noticed he's missing a bit of the ridge on his tail. I have a grown Savannah female, an almost grown Savannah male, and a juvenile Argus but none of them have any battle scars so I have no experience in this area of Monitor Lizards. It's cosmetic and he's doing great but anyone know if it will grow back? Experience in raising a tiny baby with a wound up to a large animal would be greatly appreciated. I can guess just like anyone. My guess is it won't but may form a little smoother as he grows? No idea though for sure. He was taken out of his enclosure for these pics.
