Red face Southern Pine subspecies

So I've been trying to figure out just what the subspecies is on Southern Pines. The places I've looked make it seem like it's mugitus, but I've also seen sites say its melanoleucus.

What are the snakes everyone calls 'Southern Pines'
P. m. mugitus (so the same a Florida pines)
P. m. melanoleucus (so northern pines)
or is it something different?

And yeah, I realize I seem to fail at a basic google search to be unable to find a clear answer. Sorry for such a dumb question.
