Definite basilisk. The head shape alone gives it away. As far as how it ended up in Florida, I'll just say that some Florida invasives have their roots in the pet trade, but others, especially Latin American species, show up accidentally on boats and such. I believe brown anole is an example. The house gecko is found all over the world for this reason.
