That's been my observation as well. I don't see them in Central FL very often but I saw them just about every night on our hunting lease in Perry, FL (and I wasn't even looking for them). Pygmies are still common down here if you're in the right habitat.

Me too, but I'm not sure it would help much. The type of habitat that both of these snakes prefer seems to also be the favorite of developers (high and dry).
