for those that don't know
I take it a "sinc " listed species is up for consideration of being protected, threaten or endangered. The trouble with our timber rattlesnake " sinc " listing is that it has been on this list for years ! AND hasn't gone anyplace ! So while it waits for consideration more snakes and dens are destroyed ( did I mention habitat as well ? ). And it is not merit of state wide. I know of many active denning sites. I can't even acquire a permit to have one for educational reasons. More is unless there is a permit that one can get , you can't block a construction site to remove the species to a safe other haven.
