Ok, some of you know that I have been trying to identify the black sclera that ID's this sub-species for a while now. I knew what to look for, but could not see it for myself. This evening, during a routine toe check of the troops, I saw the black sclera on the C.z.a boy that is going to Lisa this summer. While I was checking his toes for any shedding problems (all clear, btw) he was trying intently to bite me and while in a 'death roll' his eyes rolled back a bit and there it was clear as day! I could never see it before because it was hidden by the eyelids when he was calm. Now that I've seen it for sure, I totally get what everyone has been saying. Maybe next time I'll try to snap a pic (while trying not to lose any fingers, myself!). Thanks for letting me share!
