Even if not really verifiable, it is very cool and, yes, entertaining. Love it!
When I was a kid and got dragged to awful, drawn-out funerals of Irish relatives, I was taught that the wake (sometimes several days and more party for adults, not kids) was our ancient custom for when the deceased was watched over/celebrated by family before burial. LOL, they probably told me that because I hated the long wakes/funerals so much and I loudly expressed it along with my other kid relatives. Just cremate me already, lol.
