Question re: California red-sided garter snakes. Obviously San Francisco Garters are endangered and are a no-no to own here in the state unless you have that rare permit. However, are we allowed to buy California Red-sided garter snakes which don't appear to be restricted from what I can tell? Are they wild caught only via collection permit? Red mentioned in a post above you need one to "sell or catch" but didn't see anything about buying.
