If you ever get a chance to visit pigeon key...its a little 5-acre key that can only be accessed from the old 7 mile bridge...but there is places to stay on there, but i went on a fieldtrip, so how going about staying there im not too sure about...but anyways, to the herps...the first night i was there...i took a flashlight and checked out some of the trees...i ended up catching 7 corn snakes in about 15 minutes...some really cool interesting phases too...it was pretty cool...so im assuming some of the surrounding keys probably have some good corn snake populations...
