They love light and heat! An 8.0 is great, but I myself use a 10.0. I also have a 150 watt heat spot light and a normal 75 watt bulb just for extra light. In the winter, I change the regular bulb for a ceramic heat bulb. Keep the heat and spot lights on a lamp dimmer that you can get for about $10 at Wal-Mart. Keep the baskibg spot at 120 degrees.
